The famous Christmas lights switch on will return to Elephant and Castle next month, with a giant tree, entertainment and free hot chocolate.
On Friday 24 November, everyone’s invited to Castle Square to enjoy an afternoon filled with live music, carols, food, and special guests – all culminating in the annual lights switch on.
Festive entertainment on offer will include the chance to visit Santa and his elf in his grotto and children can post their Christmas list. Guests can warm up by collecting free gift vouchers to exchange for hot chocolate and non-alcoholic mulled wine.
The lights will be switched on at 5:00pm by the Mayor of Southwark, Michael Situ. There will also be the sound of carols sweeping through the air, thanks to the Southwark Brass Band and the Castle Square Community Choir.
