Catch some festive things going on this weekend in the borough, including the chance to sail with Santa along the Thames.


Friday December 2

Cockney sing-along at a Borough-based cafe 

Terry’s Cafe in Borough is getting into the spirit with a festive sing-along and refreshments.

Established in 1982, the award-winning cafe is known for its delicious fry-ups, classic interior decor, and positive promotion of quintessentially British culture.

Join them for a Christmas Cockney sing-along with hot sausage rolls, mince pies and mulled wine.

No booking required. Free to attend.

The event will start from 6pm at Terry’s Cafe, 158 Great Suffolk St, Borough, SE1 1PE.

Saturday December 3

Christmas craft market in Rotherhithe

Make your own Christmas cards, decorations and wrapping paper at The Hithe!

Open studios tours and local makers stalls at this newly opened centre. Coffees, cakes and pastries in their community garden.

Free to attend.

The event is from 10am-4pm at 71-75 Albion Street, Rotherhithe, SE16 7JA.


Christmas concert at Southwark Cathedral

Listen to North Kingston Choir at Southwark Cathedral for a Christmas concert.

No booking required. Free entry.

This event starts at 12pm at Southwark Cathedral, London Bridge, SE1 9DA. 


Sail with Santa on the Thames

Uber Boat by Thames Clippers are giving families the chance to set sail with Santa Claus through the capital. Meet Santa whilst enjoying the sparkly lights London’s landmarks along the river.

No booking required. All Santa meet and greets are included in the price of a boat journey.

Santa will be on board between 12-5pm on the following sailings:

  • 1205 departure from Battersea Power Station Pier to North Greenwich Pier,
  • 1325 departure from North Greenwich Pier to Battersea Power Station Pier,
  • 1435 departure from Battersea Power Station Pier to North Greenwich Pier,
  • 1555 departure from North Greenwich Pier to Battersea Power Station Pier, where Santa will disembark at 1658.

Everyone who meets Santa will also take home a small token gift. Santa meet and greets are available on a first come, first served basis.

Tickets start from just £4.80 per adult and £2.40 per child, children aged four and under travel free.

If you can’t make this Saturday, Santa will also be on board on December 17.
