For one weekend only, Hip Hop gets the most prestigious stage in the capital! The Fiya House Hip Hop Weekender is a free dance event being hosted at The Scoop beside City Hall and Tower Bridge, part of Summer by the River Festival.

All the family can join interactive workshops – learn your top-rock from your Bart Simpson and your two-step from your cabbage patch! Watch pop-up performances from world-renowned dance artists, incredible live DJs, and some of the UK’s finest youth dance talent – bringing together local people to celebrate community spirit.

Saturday is Family Day and Sunday is Social Dance Day. Sign up on the day for workshops, watch a dance battle or join one if you dare! All beside the most famous river in the world. The Hip Hop Weekender is presented by Fiya House, commissioned by Team London Bridge, funded by Southwark Council and supported by The Scoop and Summer by the River Festival.

Ellie Beedham, Director of Arts, Team London Bridge, said “Team London Bridge is proud to support emerging talent by partnering with Hip Hop artists Fiya House. Building on the connections they have formed in the area over the past three years, together we will bring the Hip Hop Weekender to London Bridge for the first time. Part of a cultural programme of work that heralds London Bridge as a main stage for the capital.”

Dickson Mbi, Co-Director, Fiya House, said: “Fiya House has been running classes and international events for the Hip Hop community since 2012. After over 18 months since our last live event, the Fiya House Hip Hop Weekender is the moment we’ve all been waiting for. Perfect for families, dancers and people that are interested in Hip Hop culture, the Hip Hop Weekender features some of the best dancers, DJs and performers from London and across the UK. We are excited to see the next generation of talent coming through and want to invite everyone to come down and experience what Fiya House and Hip Hop culture is all about.”
