Nunhead Knocks is helping to link up people job searching with neighbours who can give practical advice and support.
The volunteer group is keen to hear from anyone with time and skills to give that could support those made redundant when the furlough scheme ends or whose industries have collapsed during the pandemic. This could involve helping with interview practice, CV and cover letter writing, and advice about career changes.
Unemployment is becoming an ever more pressing issue as the furlough scheme winds down. The Bank of England has estimated that unemployment could double to 2.5 million by the end of the year.
