A new Lidl will open in the former Toys R Us on the Old Kent Road next week.
The discount chain announced today that their new shop will open on Thursday, February 20 – and there’s a series of offers on for the first week of opening.
The new supermarket will create up to 40 new jobs in the area, says Lidl.
The branch will have an in-store bakery, longer-style tills with dual packing, self-service checkouts and on-site car parking.
“We would like to thank all those who have played a part in bringing this new Lidl store to Old Kent Road,” said Henry Neel, Lidl’s Reigonal Head of Property.
“It is great for us to be able to create more jobs and investment opportunities in the area, and we can’t wait to start serving our multi-award winning products to the local community.”
There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony for the shop opening at 8am, with free samples of products.
