Venues and attractions in London Bridge are to pay homage to the emergency services and first responders with an open house festival day.
The We Love London Bridge event will see 23 businesses open their doors on Saturday, July 1, in honour of London’s first responders after the June 3 terror attack.
The event will also raise money for the Red Cross UK Solitary Fund, which supports victims of terror attacks.
Local attractions, including The London Bridge Experience, Southwark Cathedral, the Golden Hinde, and the Clink Prison Museum will offer free or reduced entry to both members of the emergency services and the public.
Musicians and performers have pledged their support, with entertainment expected to take place from 12pm.
A variety of music acts will perform in the venues in and around Borough High Street, including the Southwark Tavern, The Mudlark, The Barrowboy and Banker, The Ship, The Wheatsheaf, The Market Porter, St Christopher’s Inn and the Slug and Lettuce.
Emma-Jane Nutbrown, marketing director of The London Bridge Experience and London Tombs, who helped organise the event, said: “It is so beautiful to see the borough pull together in solidarity and show that, in times of need, London stands together.
“The London Bridge Experience promotes the history and culture of London Bridge and the strength of this fantastic area.
“We invite the public to come along and enjoy our open house day, bring family and friends and help further demonstrate the strong community spirit that makes London so great.”
