A Walworth pub is throwing a street party over the bank holiday weekend to celebrate finally reopening its doors after lockdown.
The Huntsman & Hounds on Elsted Street just east of the Old Kent Road is reopening for the first time since pubs were originally forced to close in March last year.
The pub, which was slated to be redeveloped in 2017 before locals stepped in, is throwing a party to thank the community next Sunday (August 29).
Local beers and street food will be on offer, while a DJ will also be playing at the party. The Huntsman & Hounds says it only serves beers from its own brewery or beer brewed within the M25.
Manager Ashley Martin Front said: “The Huntsman & Hounds focuses on the unique beverage producers of the industry who rightfully deserve their share of limelight going against the grain of local expectations.”
