Southwark Pensioners Centre held its annual Christmas lunch this month at Denmark Hill’s William Booth College.
The 50 pluses enjoyed a three-course meal with all the trimmings and a twenty prize strong raffle and rock and roll disco to dance the afternoon away, with special guest Peter John, Southwark Council’s leader, making an appearance.
The Camberwell-based centre was set up more than 30 years ago to support OAPs in the area and help them lead healthy, fulfilling lives.
Director Cathy Deplessis said: “We provide a range of activities for anyone in Southwark over the age of fifty, from line dancing, to computer training, trips to the seaside and much more.”
Membership of Southwark Pensioners Centre is £1 per month. To join, call 0207 708 4556.
