A lady from Nunhead’s Buchan Road who was in desperate need of a sewing machine was delighted when her call for help was answered by a generous lady in north London.
Her Singer machine, which she uses to sew for a living, suddenly broke leaving her potentially with no source of income.
The family heirloom needed a £300 part shipping over from the USA to get up and running again.
Within minutes of posts about her predicament being shared on community groups online by Nunhead Rocks members Ebony Evans, from Queen Park, got in touch and even travelled all the way from north London with her donated machine (pictured).
