Families from across Southwark and Lambeth will flock to Ruskin Park this Saturday to revel in the summer heat at this year’s annual Summer Fete.
Celebrating the start of Summer season, the fete will see local families enjoy African acrobats, arts workshops, live music and even some scaly lizard friends.
Friends of Ruskin Park are organising the event which will be held at the bandstand from 12pm to 6.30pm on Saturday, June 18.
There will be live music thanks to the Cambria Choir, roots band The Jelly Rollers, musical youth outfit Youthsayers, the Jessop Primary School Band and more.
Kids can look forward to face painting, arts workshops, craft stalls, a trapeze show, hula-hoop competition and coming face to face with exotic rescued reptiles.
It’s also a chance to find out about the incredible community organisations operating near Ruskin Park, which will have stalls set up.
For those needing refreshment on a day expected to hit sweltering heights of 27 degrees, there will be a tea and cake marquee with plenty of cold drinks on offer.
En Root, Deli Jerk and The Giggly Pig will provide the grub while Clarkshaws Brewery and Canopy Beer Co are sure to keep the beer flowing.
