The Bermondsey and Rotherhithe poppy appeal is officially to launch this Saturday at Surrey Quays shopping centre.
The inaugural local event will take place between 10.45am and 4.30pm, featuring the North London Military Wives Choir and readings from the Scouts Clubs and Beavers.
The Mayor of Southwark, Cllr Sandra Rhule, will be attending, while family-friendly attractions such as poppy making, and children’s colouring are also promised.
“Artwork from pupils at Rotherhithe Primary, on Rotherhithe New Road, will be displayed at the event, alongside a D-Day photo display.

I have been to Surrey Quays every day for the last week. There is no one there selling poppies. I have just come back from there and still no poppies!!!
Debra, they have been outside tesco, normally from about 4pm weekdays and from 11 am weekends
Only a few days have been missed due to not having enough volunteers.
