A fifth person has been arrested by detectives investigating the murder of Croydon’s Camron Smith.
A fifteen-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested on suspicion of murder in the early hours of Tuesday, July 27. He has now been bailed until late August.
Three other teenagers, all male, have been charged with murder. Aged fifteen, eighteen and sixteen their next hearing is scheduled for the Old Bailey on August 19.
A 20-year-old who was arrested on suspicion of murder on July 9 has also been bailed – until mid-August.
Camron was found critically injured in Bracken Avenue in Croydon’s Shrublands at quarter-to-one in the morning of Thursday, July 1.
He died a short while later at the scene from his stab injury.
