A man from Lewisham has been charged with the murder of a man and a woman nearly thirty years ago.
Danville Neil, from Sandrock Road, is accused of murdering 74-year-old Ann Castle and her 71-year-old brother William Bryan in Bethnal Green’s Clare Street in August 1993.
The 63-year-old has also been charged with burglary.
He was arrested in October 2020 after existing evidence was resubmitted for further examination.
A post-mortem examination held at Poplar Mortuary in 1993 gave Mrs Castle’s cause of death as ischaemic heart disease. Mr Bryan died from asphyxia and ischaemic heart disease.
Neil appeared at Bromley Magistrates Court on Wednesday (July 7) and is due to appear at the Old Bailey on Friday (July 9).
