A man was hospitalised last night after an police said unknown substance was thrown over his face in a possible acid attack in Herne Hill.
Police were called at 6.19pm on Monday, June 3, after the man, in his 30s, was attacked in Croxted Road, near the Junction with Norwood Road.
He was suffering pain in his eyes and is now being treated by doctors, who say his condition is not life-threatening.
Officers are now investigating what substance was thrown.
There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.
