Piers Corbyn, Walworth resident and brother of the former Labour leader, has reportedly been fined £250 for accusing NHS workers at Guy’s Hospital of “murdering people”.
Corbyn, 75, is said to have given a “cease and desist” letter to staff at a Guy’s Hospital vaccination clinic at London Bridge on 18 January this year.
He and a second man, aged 44, who was fined £200, reportedly refused to leave the hospital, even after police were called.
Corbyn from Walworth, south-east London, told Westminster Magistrates’ Court he had been arrested fifteen times since the pandemic began, and said: “We were not there trying to obstruct people doing anything.”
In a Guardian article, it said Corbyn had arrived with a group of anti-vaxxers at Guy’s Hospital, with the letter that they claimed was to prevent NHS staff from administering the Covid-19 vaccine.
Corbyn is said to have told Chelsea Butcher, a nursing sister: “We are not leaving, you are murdering people here,” and another member of the group said, “This is a crime scene,” Westminster magistrates court heard.
