Three men were hospitalised last night after they took a drug being given out on the street called ‘Spice’.
Police were called to reports of a man fitting in Staffordshire Street, Peckham at 9.40pm. When they arrived on scene the victim, believed to be in his twenties, told officers he had taken the drug after being offered it for free.
The London Ambulance Service took the man to a south London hospital
Ten minutes later, police were called to Peckham High Street where a second man had similar symptoms. He too is believed to have taken the drug. he was also taken to hospital and later discharged himself.
A third man, who was taken to hospital with the same symptoms just before 7pm and remains in a critical but stable condition.
Officers would like to hear from anyone who may have been offered the drug and would advise anyone who has taken it to seek medical attention.
