An al fresco cinema will come to Dulwich next week for screenings of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and Dirty Dancing.
The one-off night time project will be hosted by the Jags Sports Cub in Redpost Hill, in collaboration with the East Dulwich Picturehouse and Café.
Star Wars will be shown on Wednesday, July 13. The 2015 blockbuster features local talent, John Boyega, who attended Theatre Peckham as a youngster.
The 1987 classic, Dirty Dancing, will be screened the following day.
Gates will open at 9am with screenings starting at 9.15pm on both nights, or as soon as it becomes dark.
Guests are invited to bring seating with them, or lay on the grass and have a picnic. A limited number of cardboard ‘bumbox’ seats will be on sale, only to be used at the rear of the cinema area.
Organisers have asked guests not to being alcohol from outside, but beer and wine will be sold at the bar.
It is also recommended that guests cycle or walk to the sports club as parking is limited. Alternatively the venue is on the P4 and 37 bus routes, and within walking distance of North Dulwich and East Dulwich rail stations.
