Critically acclaimed show, Eating Myself, is coming to Theatre Peckham as part of #PeckhamFringe.
Eating Myself is a one-woman show that explores the brave story of a woman trying to find her identity through food, family, and traditions. Born and raised in Peru, the story shares a personal fight with body image and self-care. With captivating theatricality and live cooking, this show will immerse you in the heart of Latin American culture and cuisine.
Eating Myself was born out of the urge to talk about che relationship between women and food, and eating as an essential part of Peruvian and Latin American tradition.
Through storytelling, movement and music, Eating Myself aims to bring the audience closer to their own roots and traditions. On-stage cooking is used to generate an intimate sensory experience full of flavour.
Eating Myself is presented by Pepa Duarte and The Rose Collective.
The Rose Collective is an artistic production company that works to create spaces and opportunities for underrepresented people to present their work, tell their stories and feel empowered. The world is full of diversity and colour, it is our duty to create a society that is integrative, empathetic, and that is open to changes and new ideas. Our company aims to develop and present challenging, thought-provoking, and innovative projects to UK and worldwide audiences.
As a group formed by migrants and minorities, we aim to collaborate with a variety of filmmakers, theatre-makers, and artists overall, from different backgrounds to develop a variety of artistic projects.
