Southwark Council launched its new ‘passport to the arts’ last week, giving residents discounts to cultural events and activities across the borough.

The new Southwark Presents Card was launched at Canada Water Library on March 1, with Southwark-based comedian Jenny Eclair joining the celebrations.

The card gives users discounts and offers across the borough, and also doubles as a library card for the council’s twelve libraries.

Current offers include £10 off tickets for Julius Caesar at the Bridge Theatre, 10 per cent off any in-house production at Cervantes Theatre, two for one entry at the Dulwich Picture Gallery, and a large popcorn for the price of a small at the Peckham Plex cinema.

Councillor Johnson Situ, said: “I am delighted to be joining Jenny Eclair for the launch of the council’s new Southwark Presents Card.

“I will be taking advantage of the fabulous cultural events and offers it opens up and would encourage everyone in Southwark to head to their local library to sign up for their very own access to culture, Southwark Presents Card.”
