A man is in hospital after a motorbike collision on Lower Road at noon today.
The London Ambulance Service said it was called at noon to the collision involving a motorbike, and that the male rider was treated at the scene.
He was then rushed to a major trauma centre by ambulance. The service also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance, which landed in Southwark Park to deal with the incident.
According to police, the man – who is in his thirties – is not in a life-threatening condition. His injuries are also not thought to be “life-changing.”
He was discovered by officers on patrol, who said he had fallen off his bike in the course of the collision.
At the time of writing, road closures of Lower Road and the Rotherhithe Tunnel are in place.
A LAS spokeswoman said: “We were called at 11:59am today (4 May) to reports of a road traffic collision involving a motorcyclist on Lower Road, SE16.
“We dispatched an ambulance crew, an incident response officer and our hazardous area response team (HART). We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.
“We treated a person at the scene and took them to a major trauma centre by road.
