The Pelican made a splash on Saturday as the Peckham estate enjoyed a sun-kissed family fun-fest.
Mayor of Southwark, Cllr Dora Dixon-Fyle opened the Summer Splash day of good food, stilt walkers, and live music – including an appearance from Elvis.
The annual event to celebrate the rich diversity of the estate was organised by the Tenants’ and Residents’ Association chair Joan Morris, who said the ‘Pelican’s Got Talent’ contest was a highlight of the day.
“Those young people should be on Britain’s Got Talent,” she said proudly, adding that the event had been a ‘huge success’.
“It was beautiful to see everyone coming together,” she said.
