Borough Market is extending its online delivery service to keep people fed during the coronavirus crisis.
The market remains open to shoppers with new hygiene measures in place for the time being.
From today, deliveries will be extended to any location within the M25.
Strict hygiene practices will mean that the food is securely packaged, and the option of a doorstep drop service allows it to be received without contact with couriers, said the Market.
“The priority is for the market to be able to deliver wonderful food from our traders to Londoners who have to stay at home and live outside our normal delivery zone,” said Kate Howell, of Borough Market.
Trader Bread Ahead is also offering free yeast for anyone living in the local community who wants to bake their own bread while in isolation.
The market will continue to supply flour and other dried goods to keep us cooking at home, and said surplus food will continue to be given to community organisations feeding vulnerable people.

Managing director Darren Henaghan vowed the market would survive the outbreak – saying it had already survived wars and terror attacks.
“Borough Market has served this community for a thousand years, through thick and thin,” he said.
“It has survived wars. It has lived through food shortages and curfews.
“As recently as 2017, our community withstood the trauma of a terrorist attack and the subsequent weeks of closure.
“It did so by remaining close and supportive, by caring about people – and that’s how we’ll get through this crisis too.”
Communal seating has been removed from the Borough Market Kitchen and public events have been cancelled to minimise contact between customers and traders, he added.
Orders from Borough Market to anywhere in the M25 can now be placed online at https://www.goodsixty.co.uk/borough-market.
I agree, but we did not survive the war strolling around the street while the Germans were bombing. And this is exactly what we’re doing now. 🙁
