Southwark Council has rolled out free Covid tests for those who do not have symptoms from Monday, January 18.
Officials are urging key workers and those who can’t work from home to be among those getting the lateral flow test.
These tests show results in less than an hour.
Officials say the move to offer the tests to those without symptoms will allow residents to check “you’re not carrying the virus and spreading it to colleagues, customers or those you live with.”
Particularly encouraged to get a test are school staff, supermarket staff, and cleaners, among others.
The testing centre will open on Monday, January 18 at the Damilola Taylor Centre, in Surrey Grove, Peckham.
It will operate seven days a week, from 9am to 7pm, but 11am on the first day.
Those with symptoms are still being urged to book a test through the Government website.
People who have recently come into contact with a Covid case are also being urged not to book a lateral flow test, but instead isolate at home.
