A car park on Walworth’s Salisbury Estate will be turned into a new block with 26 council homes after being given planning permission this month.
The five-storey block on the Rodney Road estate will include three, two and one-bed flats, with at least half earmarked for tenants on surrounding estates who will be given first refusal.
Councillor Leo Pollak, the cabinet member responsible for new homes at Southwark Council, said he was “especially proud” of the development and its high quality design.
