A police officer was hospitalised in a collision in Camberwell on Thursday afternoon (July 14).
The incident took place near Camberwell Green as officers went to check out another incident. Traffic was halted as emergency service staff sorted out the incident, which took the front bumper off the other car involved, according to an eyewitness.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “At 3.33pm on Thursday 14 July a British Transport Police (BTP) vehicle was involved in a road traffic collision on Camberwell New Road as officers responded to an incident.
“One BTP officer attended hospital for treatment to minor injuries and was discharged later that evening. Thankfully no one else was injured in the collision.”
Met Police officers also attended and said later that no one had been arrested in connection with the incident.
