Residents have the chance to quiz the leader of Southwark Council on a range of topics, with focus placed on care services, tackling obesity, clean air and supporting vulnerable residents.
On the evening of October 19, Southwark Council is giving members of the public the opportunity to put their questions directly to the leader, councillor Peter John, with the cabinet member for health and social care alongside him.
The event will take place in Canada Water Library from 7pm, with doors opening at 6.30pm.
Cllr John said: “I’m looking forward to once again being challenged by local people and hearing what questions they have for me and my cabinet colleagues. We want to be as open and transparent as possible with our residents and hear about the things that concern them, whether it something that affects them personally or on a wider level.
“Although we will welcome questions on any topic, we are particularly interested in hearing from people who want to ask us something around public health or our adult social care service. Southwark faces many challenges in these areas, from mental health and obesity issues to air quality and creating a community where people can grow older but still feel engaged, active and involved in their communities.”
