Neil Coyle hit out at ‘sh*tbag racist w*nkers’ and ‘fat old racist’ Brexiteers in foul mouthed Twitter rant over the Proms music row.
In a series of now-deleted tweets, the Bermondsey and Old Southwark MP waded into the debate over whether Rule, Britannia! should feature on the Last Night of the Proms on the BBC.
In a comment posted above a video of Nigel Farage singing along, Coyle commented that he had only known ‘sh*tlickers’ to like the song.
He then took aim at ‘fat old racists’ and ‘sh*tbag w*nkers’ in a reply to a tweet from Jacob Rees-Mogg that said that ‘Britons must never be enslaved by political correctness’.
Rule, Britannia! has been the subject of numerous debates over the years about Britain’s attitude to its imperial past, with its ‘jingoistic’ tone the focus of much criticism.
The debate over this year’s Proms had particular resonance in light of the Black Lives Matter movement and subsequent re-evaluation of landmarks with slavery links.
The BBC has decided to broadcast an instrumental version of the song which includes the line: ‘Britons never, never, never shall be slaves’.
Land of Hope and Glory’s references to the ‘might’ of the British Empire have also led to calls for the song to be rewritten or removed altogether over the years. The song will also be performed without lyrics at this year’s Proms finale.
Boris Johnson had reacted to the BBC’s decision by criticising ‘cringing national embarrassment about our history’.
Coyle’s tweets, posted late on Tuesday night, have now been removed.
Last September, after surviving a deselection threat, he promised to clean up his Twitter feed after gaining a reputation for turning the air blue.
“Some of my members have raised it with me, often they agree with me, but say I just don’t need to be that crude,” he had admitted to the News.
“One said ‘I don’t want to see that done effectively in my name’, and I have taken that on board.
“I will be toning down the language but never the passion.”
Not long after he became embroiled in a nasty argument with Piers Morgan over murdered MP Jo Cox’s memory, in which he branded the Good Morning Britain presenter a ‘scrote’. Coyle had also previously called the Prime Minister a ‘d**k’ on live television.
Today, in a short statement to the News, Coyle was less contrite, arguing: “I know people want a candid, honest speaking representative.
“People know the tweets are my own and there is no filter.
“If anyone is offended they can unfollow, that’s how Twitter works.”
What a dirty no good lowlife Coyle is. He thinks that because he is a privately educated posh kid from Luton he can talk to the people of Bermondsey like they are shit on his shoes. I fear for his kids, fancy having a drunken piece of shit like him as a father. I wonder if he lets his anger out on them, wouldnt surprise me one bit.
Other than calling Mogg ‘fat’ he was absolutely spot on.
Neil Coyle you are one disgusting piece of ?. You are foul mouthed and you should resign from your position as MP for Southwark & Old Bermondsey. Your disgusting comment will have lost you a lot of votes in the next GE. It doesn’t really matter because with ? like you running the Labour Party you have zero chance of being elected as the Labour MP for Southwark & Old Bermondsey. Your foul mouth is your downfall. You are an embarrassment to the people of Southwark & Old Bermondsey?
Like so many people in today’s Labour Party, Neil Coyle doesn’t seem to like working class people, or our country. What an absolute disgrace and embarrassment he is to the voters of Bermondsey and Old Southwark.
I wonder what ‘sh*tbag’ cock wombles elected this brainfart!? 😉
