Latest plans for the confirmed redevelopment of Peckham Rye Station Square will be on show at a free public meeting on January 12.
The drop-in meeting will be hosted by Southwark Council at Barry’s Café, in the station arcades, between 4pm and 8pm.
The council’s strategy to demolish the arcades and create and open square in front of the station was given planning approval in March.
The designs also include a two-storey extension to the 2-10 Blenheim Grove building, with spaces for a restaurant, office spaces, a takeaway, and public toilets around the square.
Businesses who currently occupy units in the arcade will be displaced, while the beauty salons in Blenheim Grove have been offered new premises that are set to be built in Bournemouth Close.
Visitors to the meeting will be able to speak to council officers and find out more about other parts of the scheme, including:
- Programme for construction of the scheme
- Progress with the Compulsory Purchase Order
- Update on internal layout of the scheme to accommodate existing businesses
- Update on the Co-Design Review
- Progress with the Peckham Palms scheme for hair and beauty businesses
- New extension to Iceland
