Traffic was halted for several hours on Tuesday evening (August 9) after a man climbed up onto the side of Tower Bridge.
The incident took place around 8pm on Tuesday, with City of London Police, who are responsible for community safety on Tower Bridge, telling drivers and pedestrians to find alternative routes.

It is unclear why the man was on the bridge. Police said the bridge was reopened to traffic and pedestrians at about 1.30am on Wednesday.
