The Queen of Norway was a picture of pride as she opened an exhibition at the Dulwich Picture Gallery last week.
Her Majesty Queen Sonja gave a speech about the work of her countryman, Nikolai Astrup as she marked the start of the Painting Norway exhibition on Wednesday February 3.
The Director of Dulwich Picture Gallery and co-curator of the exhibition, Ian A C Dejardin and fellow co-curator, MaryAnne Stevens led Queen Sonja through the display alongside Norway’s Minister of Culture, Linda Cathrine Hofstad Helleland and State Secretary, Bård Folke Fredriksen.
Following the tour, Queen Sonja joined nearly a hundred guests from Norway for dinner in the gallery.
