Dulwich Hamlet suffered their biggest-ever National League South defeat after being thumped 6-0 against Worthing on Tuesday night.
The Hamlet were already on a run of eight games without a win including seven defeats but things got even worse at Woodside Road against a side that was only promoted to the division from the Isthmian League last season.
It took just five minutes for the hosts to go in front through Josh Chambers and they doubled their advantage in the 27th minute when Ollie Pearce scored a penalty after Frankie Raymond had fouled Chambers.
Paul Barnes’s side tried to hit back and had chances as Raymond’s shot deflected away for a corner and then Will Wood’s cross was headed over by Jack Holland.
On 37 minutes, Chambers played in former Millwall winger Lewis White but with only goalkeeper James Holden to beat he lost his balance and scuffed his effort wide.
Dulwich had another opportunity when Dominic Odusanya was played through but goalkeeper Harrison Male saved.
And it went from bad to worse two minutes before half-time when Reece Myles-Meekums added a third for the Rebels.
The Hamlet had their next big chance an hour in when George Porter shot goalwards only for Joe Rye to block on the line.
It was 4-0 a minute later as Joel Colbran’s header wasn’t dealt with well enough by Holden and the Worthing player finished to an empty net.
There was still time for two more goals, Myles-Meekums getting his brace in the 73rd minute and Pearce also scoring his second three minutes from time in front of an attendance of 804.
Dulwich are eighteenth in the table, four points above the relegation zone. Worthing moved up into the fourth play-off spot as they occupy fifth place.
The Hamlet are on the road again this Saturday when they visit Hampton & Richmond Borough, who are a place and three points behind them. Kick-off at The Rocket Hospitality Beveree Stadium is 3pm.
