Fisher ended their pre-season friendly campaign by beating Forest Hill Park on penalties to win the Eternal Memorial Cup.
Antony Connor scored for the Fish as the game finished 1-1 before Patrick Hoy, Prince Imoru and a trialist were successful from twelve yards to give the visitors a 3-2 at Greenwich University.
Ajay Ashanike was boosted by the return of Julio Da Mata from injury and more match minutes for Malaki Coker as he continues to build up his fitness after a long-term injury.
Tobi Irefin and Dennis Asante missed chances to put Fisher in front against the SCEFL First Division side.
Da Mata came on and almost gave his side the lead with a header from Connor’s cross.
Fisher broke the deadlock with 20 minutes left when Manny Shoderu ran clear of the defence to square for Connor.
But their opponents had insisted that the ball had gone out of play before Shoderu crossed, and Ashanike agreed that Forest Hill could score the equaliser unopposed.
Fish goalkeeper Justice Owusu was the hero in the shootout, saving three penalties to help his side retain the trophy that these teams play for when they meet.
Fisher kick off their 2022-23 SCEFL Premier Division campaign against Whitstable Town this Saturday. Kick-off at St Paul’s in Rotherhithe is 3pm.
