Dulwich gaffer Gavin Rose asked his players if they have what it takes to get Hamlet to the play-offs this week, following a disastrous defeat away at Bognor last Saturday.
Promotion chasing Hamlet were thrashed 4-0, all the goals coming in the first half, by the coastal side leaving Rose to question his players chances of promotion to the Conference South division.
Rose told the News that before training for this Saturday’s game against VCD Athletic got underway he will have a meeting to make sure his side has the right stuff for the run in.
The Hamlet boss said: “We will have a meeting away from the training ground to discuss things after last Saturday. “We will check to see who has the commitment to the shirt for the rest of the season.
“That is not always the most talented players. It is about showing commitment and taking instruction and putting that into action. “Once we have done that then we can begin to prepare for our game against VCD.”
But the panic button will not be pressed after one very bad defeat Rose added, instead he would like to give the players a chance to complete a job they have started this season. Rose added: “We do have to keep things in perspective though.
Some people might say there will be wholesale changes but you have to remember these players got us into the position we are now.
“Some teams are playing for nothing right now but we are not and it is these players who got us here now.
“We have perspective on this issue and its important not to overreact to the Bognor defeat.” One man who will not be part of the run in is striker Mu Mann, who returned to Met Police this week after being released by Dulwich.
Rose explained that he could not give Mann the time on the pitch to get fully fit so it was best he got the chance elsewhere.
