TOM Bradshaw, Charlie Cresswell, George Saville and Romain Esse were all named on the bench for their final fixtures of the international break.
Bradshaw was an unused substitute as Wales downed Latvia at the Cardiff City Stadium last night. AFC Bournemouth’s Kieffer Moore scored shortly before the half-time break, helping them to pick up their first win in Euro 2024 qualifying campaign. They now have four points and sit top of their group, having secured a draw in Croatia on Saturday afternoon.
Cresswell was also an unused substitute as England under-21’s were beaten 2-1 by Croatia in a friendly at Craven Cottage on Tuesday evening. Martin Baturina gave the visitors the lead in the 34th minute before Dion Drena Beljo doubled the advantage with a penalty eight minutes after the half-time break. Morgan Gibbs-White’s 87th-minute spot-kick got Lee Carsley’s men back in the game, but they were unable to secure a positive result.
Saville, on the other hand, was brought on in the 79th minute of Northern Ireland’s 1-0 defeat to Finland at Windsor Park, replacing Manchester City’s Shea Charles. Benjamin Kallman’s 28th-minute strike handed the visitors all three points, leaving Michael O’Neill’s side fifth in their Euro 2024 qualifying group with three points after beating San Marino over the weekend.
Finally, Esse was given 30 minutes off the bench as England under-18’s beat Switzerland 3-1 in their final friendly game of their camp in Croatia. The fixture was delayed by three hours due to a waterlogged pitch, but the Young Lions were able to dominate the game thanks to goals from Sonny Finch, Bobby Clark and Jobe Bellingham.
