Steve Smith has been appointed as the new Stansfeld assistant manager for the upcoming season.
Smith, who turned out for Cray Wanderers, Greenwich Borough and Barking FC in his playing days, also has a wealth of coaching experience.
That includes stints at Beauwater, Erith Town and most recently working with the youth team at Welling United. He has also worked with the seniors at Swanley Town and in Charlton FC community schemes.
Stansfeld’s first-team boss Lloyd Bradley said: “Steve Smith was the stand-out candidate. Stansfeld have been thin on the football management side of things at the club, so it was important that we added some quality and Steve certainly brings that.
“He will be a massive help to me, both on match days and at training. I am sure we will be able to form a very successful partnership.”
He added: “We are still looking to add some players to the squad as we try to go one better than last season’s runner-up spot (in the Kent County Premier League), but I strongly believe Steve will be the most important signing we make. I am really looking forward to working with him.”
