ELKAN Baggott is “buzzing” for the start of the season and says the Millwall changing room has made it easy for him to settle at his new club.
Centre-back Baggott, 23, played 90 minutes in the Lions’ 1-1 draw against Bromley on Tuesday evening.
Ethon Archer gave Andy Woodman’s League One side the lead in the first half before Mathis Servais levelled after the break.
“It was a tough game, [against a] very direct team. We had to do the basics well, defend first and second contacts,” Baggott said on Millwall TV.
“I thought we were pretty unlucky not to win the game, to be honest, we probably should do better a few times in the final third.
“We conceded a poor goal but over all I thought it was a good performance.”
Baggott signed a long-term deal after joining from Ipswich Town for an undisclosed fee earlier this month and met his new team-mates for the first time at their training camp in Spain.
“I’ve really enjoyed coming into this changing room,” he said. “Even before coming in I heard from a few people that it was a good changing room. They’ve held up to that.
“It’s been really easy to settle in and it was good to get 90 minutes with the boys.
“It’s getting everyone up to speed, I think everyone will have a 90 minutes in their legs before the season starts. You need to have that in the tank.”
Millwall’s final pre-season game is against Antwerp on Saturday.
Baggott said: “Really looking forward to being at The Den, it will be my first time properly there. Looking forward to meeting the fans and hopefully have a good result.
“Buzzing for the start of the season.”
Meanwhile, season tickets are on sale in the North Stand for the first time.
The club have sold a record 13,000 season tickets, with a further 500 on sale for the ‘away’ end.
“It’s been a long process, but we’re absolutely delighted to have now installed a significant amount of infrastructure into the North Stand to now enable us to house our own supporters,” managing director Mark Fairbrother said on the club’s website.
“So much effort has gone into ensuring we were in a position to launch ahead of the season starting, and to now offer supporters an additional 500 season tickets is a fantastic moment for the club.
“We know demand has been huge, with a club-record number of season ticket holders already on board for 2026-27, so being able to open up more of The Den to our fans – both for the season and match by match – is something everyone at Millwall is proud of.
“Thank you to all involved for their patience and hard work in getting us here.”
