DULWICH HAMLET were knocked out of the Buildbase Trophy at the weekend – as a goalmouth scramble from the game went viral.
Hamlet lost the second-round tie 2-0 to Wingate & Finchley, but in the tenth minute came out at the right end of a remarkable sequence that saw five shots cleared off their line in a matter of seconds. Ibrahim Kargbo made three of them, the last an incredibly brave head-first dive to finally see the ball ricochet clear.
Rob Laney scored in each half for the Bostick Premier League side as Hamlet’s poor run went on. Gavin Rose’s side have won just twice since the end of October.
But Preston Edwards and Kargbo’s efforts, shared by the BBC and Sky Sports among many others, will be replayed for years.
GOALMOUTH SCRAMBLE!
