A Southwark MP says he is going to have his work cut out for him after being appointed a Parliamentary Private Secretary (PPS) – the first rung on the ladder to becoming a cabinet minister.
Neil Coyle was elected the MP for Bermondsey and Old Southwark in May this year, so after having just a few months to learn the ropes, he told the News he is going to have to “learn even quicker” to get to grips with his new role as PPS to Chris Bryant, MP – the shadow Leader of the House.
“The role will also give me a panorama of the whole business of Government in detail and how it will affect Southwark,” said Neil. “I’m pleased to take on the role and will manage it as well as remaining very closely focused on our bit of London.”
