Southwark children will receive NHS school-aged vaccination services from Hounslow and Richmond Community Healthcare NHS Trust (HRCH) from August.
HRCH was awarded the £1.3m contract from NHS England to help deliver the school aged vaccinations programme in Bromley, Bexley, Lambeth, Southwark, Kingston and Merton.
School aged vaccinations are delivered to all children and young people under the age of sixteen as part of the National Childhood Immunisations Programme – to help prevent the spread of disease and infection.
HRCH currently provides the school age vaccination programme in Richmond and Sutton.
The health trust will begin delivering the school aged vaccinations programme to local schools from 1 September 2016 and will be contacting local parents and schools with full details of the service and the programme.
Natalie Douglas, Associate Director of Children’s Service, said: “We are delighted to have won this new contract to deliver school age immunisations services to children and young people across six south London boroughs.
“As part of the new service, local parents and schools can expect the highest level of care and vaccinations for children and young people. We look forward to working closely with local schools and parents to deliver the school age vaccination Programme.”
