BART Bialkowski feels Millwall can be “unplayable” at home – and wants the side to be at it “from the first whistle” next weekend.
Millwall go into the south London derby against Charlton after their 2-1 defeat at Reading when they couldn’t recover from a poor first-half performance that saw them go in two goals down at the break.
The Lions can close the gap to the Addicks to a point with a win at The Den on Saturday.
“We don’t feel pressure, we have been fantastic at home,” Bialkowski said. “We just need to transfer that form away from home as well. If we do that then we can compete against anyone and beat anyone.
“We have proved at home this year that if we do everything right then we are unplayable at times and we can beat anyone, so it’s another good test for us.
“There are a lot of positives to take away from that game [Saturday], especially in the second half. We just need to do everything we need to do from the first whistle.”
Millwall have lost only once at home in the league this season, but have yet to taste victory on the road.
Bialkowski continued: “There shouldn’t be any difference, to be fair. At the end of the day, it’s just facing another team, it shouldn’t matter if you play at home or away from home.
“It’s all about details in football and [Saturday] it’s two good goals from their perspective, but we feel that we should avoid those goals and learn the lessons. Hopefully the away win is coming soon.
“I think we killed ourselves in the first half. They have done a good job on us in the first half and we just couldn’t do anything. Second half when we scored we made them defend and that was better but it was a little too late.”
Bialkowski made a superb save to tip Matt Miazga’s header around the post in the first half at the Madejski Stadium. “It was just another reaction save, really, you just try and save every single shot but sometimes you can’t.
“I’ve conceded two, I’m disappointed but that’s football. You can’t win everything.”
