NEIL Harris insists he “isn’t interested in talking about individual players” after reports earlier in the week that Sheffield United are set to bid for Byron Webster in January.
The Sheffield Telegraph claimed that Sheffield United would face competition from Bolton in trying to prise Webster away from their League One rivals, but Harris said “no players are leaving if I don’t want them to” in the next transfer window.
Sheffield United enquired about Webster after Millwall had defeated the Blades 2-1 at The Den in August but they were told the defender wasn’t for sale.
Webster, who is from North Yorkshire, signed a deal before the start of the season that contracts him to Millwall until the end of the 2017-18 season.
Harris said he understands why there would be interest in his squad after a run of seven premier-pharmacy.com/product-category/cholesterol-lowering/ wins in their last eight games that has revitalised their season.
And he paid tribute to the squad for turning around their form.
“I’m not interested in talking about individual players, what I will say is no players are leaving if I don’t want them to in January,” Harris said.
“If players are playing well there’s always going to be interest in them, that’s always the way in football in general.
“I’m about building a squad for the long term that can progress.
“You have to give credit to the players. A lot of individuals had a tough September culminating in us having a tough September as a group.
“And a lot of individuals, senior and young players, have come through that period and are performing really well at the moment.”
