MILLWALL striker John Marquis was celebrating promotion on Saturday after Northampton Town’s 2-2 draw at home against Bristol Rovers.
The Cobblers blew a two-goal lead, but most of the 7,579 in attendance at Sixfields weren’t bothered as they look forward to seeing their team play in the third tier for the first time in seven years.
Northampton will now focus on securing the title. They are 12 points ahead of second-placed Oxford with just five games remaining.
In the National League, Tom King’s Braintree Town kept their play-off hopes alive with a 1-1 draw at home to Forest Green. Braintree are three points behind Tranmere but have a game in hand.
Alfie Pavey came on as a late substitute as Aldershot deepened Halifax’s relegation worries with a 2-0 win at The Shay.
In National League South, defender Keaton Wood scored an own goal but Dartford still won the Kent derby 2-1 at Maidstone United.
