BEN Thompson helped Portsmouth stay four points clear at the top of League One with a 2-0 win over Walsall on Tuesday night.
Thompson fizzed a 25-yard effort just wide before goals from Oliver Hawkins and Ronan Curtis secured the points for Kenny Jackett’s side.
Fred Onyedinma’s Wycombe come from behind to defeat Accrington 2-1, with the attacker playing 90 minutes. Wycombe moved up to 10th in League One, just six points off the play-offs.
Tom King was on the bench as AFC Wimbledon lost 1-0 at Peterborough.
In League Two, Sid Nelson played in the centre of defence for Swindon in their 3-2 win over Stevenage, Richie Wellens’ first home win as Robins manager. Swindon are 12th, four points off the play-offs.
And on Wednesday night, Danny McNamara played right-back for Welling as they lost 2-1 at National League South rivals Dulwich Hamlet in the third qualifying round of the FA Trophy.
