BEN Thompson said he was “gutted” after the shock departure of Neil Harris on Thursday.
Harris’s last game was Wednesday’s 1-1 draw at Luton Town and he leaves after being in charge since March 2015.
The Lions’ record goal scorer was manger for 248 games, including three as caretaker after taking over from Ian Holloway, and had a win percentage of 41.
Jed Wallace also posted on Twitter on Thursday, thanking Harris for “reviving” his career. Aiden O’Brien thanked Harris “for everything”.
Matt Smith, signed by Harris in the summer, gave his reaction, and Shane Ferguson also had his say.
What a journey it’s been between us from playing together, to my reserve manager, then to my first team BOSS.. 10 years+ with you. I thank you for everything ???? https://t.co/ssjqhm607A
