HARRY Smith made his comeback from injury as Millwall’s U23s defeated Bristol City 1-0 at Dartford on Monday afternoon.
Smith has been out since suffering a dead leg in a Professional Development League game against QPR in January.
With Lions boss Neil Harris indicating he could rest Lee Gregory or Steve Morison or both at some point during February, Smith will come into contention.
The 21-year-old striker has scored six goals in eight games this season, but hasn’t featured for the first team since the 1-0 defeat at home to Shrewsbury on December 10.
Meanwhile Justin Skinner’s side claimed three points against the Robins after Isaac ‘Tanto’ Olaofe’s 91st-minute winner.
Olaofe is a winger and came to wider attention earlier this season when he ran 80 yards beating a number of defenders to score in an FA Cup tie against Worthing.
That stunning effort was shortlisted for the League Football Education’s goal of the month, which highlights the best of U18s academy football.
And U23 boss Skinner was impressed with his young attacker.
“He has good pace and a knack of showing up at the right place at the right time,” he told Millwall’s official website.
“Tanto is a first-year scholar so there is still plenty he needs to learn but he is coming along well. He played 90 minutes last week against Cardiff so I gave him another opportunity to play today.
“It’s pleasing to see him grab his opportunities with both hands.”
