RYAN Woods received a positive message about Millwall before his move from Stoke – from former Lions striker Lee Gregory.
Woods finalised a move to south London last Friday before making his debut in the 2-0 win over Reading the following day.
Woods and Gregory were team-mates at the Potters this season after the latter’s move from Millwall last summer.
Former Brentford midfielder Woods had a discrete word with Gregory after Millwall had made their interest known.
“I didn’t really have a chance to speak to him that much because I couldn’t really make people aware of what was going on,” Woods said.
“But I did speak to him a little bit. He said the dressing room is fantastic and there are some nice areas around to live in.
“I’m sure I’ll be having a few more conversations with him over the phone or text in the next few weeks.
“I’m still in a hotel but I’m trying to get a place sorted to feel settled and get to know the area. I want to do that as soon as possible.
“I’ve got a fiancée and a little girl of 16 months. I want to try and get them down here as soon as I can.
“I’ve still got a few friends from Brentford that I’ve been talking to that I can meet up with and have a coffee. The lads here have been brilliant with me and if I need anything or want to do anything they’re more than happy to help out.”
