JAYSON Molumby says he is “really enjoying” his time at Millwall and thanked his team-mates for making him feel so welcome at the club.
Molumby, 20, is on a season-long loan from Premier League Brighton and has made a big impact in his first full season playing senior league football.
Ireland under-21 captain Molumby has become a first-team regular after making his league debut against Fulham in August.
Molumby was superb in the 2-1 win at Bristol City on Tuesday, when the Lions fought off a late Robins onslaught to earn a second away win in three games.
“I’m really enjoying it,” he said. “The boys have been unbelievable since day one when I came in. They’ve been brilliant with me and I can’t thank them enough.
“I just need to be more consistent, keep building on it and hopefully we keep picking up points and wins.
“I think we should have been two or three goals up at half-time and we would have been comfortable.
“We were delighted with the first half especially but knew it would be tough in the second half. Even when we did get that second goal we knew there would be a lot of pressure.
“It’s credit to the boys, the back three, back five were unbelievable. It was a well-deserved three points.
“I think we’ve learned from previous mistakes when we had a goal or two lead and haven’t seen out the win. The boys were throwing bodies in front of the ball and giving it everything to grind out a result. That’s what we’re about, people fully committed to the cause.
“You saw first half especially we were controlling the ball and controlling play a lot better. We have two wins and a draw away from home [in the last three away games] and we have to be happy with that.
“Everyone’s delighted but we’ve got another tough game on Saturday and there’s a busy schedule coming up. We need to recover and get ready for the next game.
“We’re going into every game thinking we can win, whether it’s at home and now we have the confidence away from home as well which we probably didn’t have in previous games before the new gaffer.
“We feel we can do better away from home and continue picking up points whenever we can.”
