A talented team of Southwark riders were crowned the London Youth Games BMX champions once again this year.
The reigning champions claimed three victories out of a possible eleven on June 18 after narrowly beating Ealing and Hackney on the day.
Members of Peckham BMX Club were selected to represent the borough at the annual youth sporting event which took place at the refurbished BMX track in Brockwell Park.
Among those who took part were Danny-Jake Monforte, Dylan Lewis, Lamin Akerele, Elijah Banton, Chris and Joshua Gayle, Cody Canns, Malakai Callender, Dylan Drummond, Cayden and Chanel Fowler, Dexter Gambe, Hugo Giruzcynski, and Daniel Alvarez.
Also taking part on the day were Kaydon James, Oscar Gayle, Finn Ogbe, Theodore and Izaiah Smith, Keavon Sharpe, Jay Teal Simpson, Meshach Thomas, Shani Harris-Sherwood, Eboni Lennon, Maleek Sithanen, Sumir Patel, Theodore Peterkin, and Kevin Asbaum.
The London Youth Games is Europe’s largest youth sports festival.
It is now a season of events taking place over nine months including both school and community competitions across 30 different sports.
The competitions are part of the national School Games Programme.
