Everyone Active is offering free fitness classes and activities in its centres across Southwark for people affected by dementia this weekend.
Anyone living with the condition or who cares for someone with dementia can use the centres for free on Saturday, September 7 and Sunday, September 8.
The initiative is in support of National Dementia Carers’ Day, held on Sunday.
An estimated 850,000 people in the UK are living with dementia.
Michael Hindmarsh, regional activities manager at Everyone Active, said: “We work in hundreds of communities across the country and we’re determined to support all the people who live within them to be active.
“Having dementia or caring for someone who does can impact on all aspects of life.
“We want to play our part in ensuring people have the opportunity to enjoy physical activity regardless of their circumstances.”
Anyone who wants to take advantage of the scheme must fill in this health and safety forms and watch the online induction beforehand.
