Dozens of people from Bermondsey and Rotherhithe gathered at the Ancient Foresters pub on Southwark Park Road on Tuesday (September 30) for a tea party to raise money for the local poppy appeal.
The pub is the new home of the Royal British Legion for Bermondsey and Rotherhithe. Sandra, the landlady of the pub, told the News in July that she wants “to create a bit more of a community round here.”
As well as the food and drink at the pub, visitors to the pub’s tea party were treated to a visit from a mascot wearing a full-size poppy costume.
